Circa 2003: Gov Rick Perry advances Muslim teachings; builds mosque; sets up Texas Sharia Court
Texas Governor's Office | Circa 2003

Posted on 01/10/2015 4:17:19 AM PST by Liz

Then-Gov Rick Perry signs agreement with the Aga Khan--Muslim leader.

“It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.

Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership."

"We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness’ work and leadership.”

In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and Univ of Texas-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC).

MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts in 2005 and 2006.

The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perry’s desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures.

Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground (and was helpful in getting a triumphal mosque built in Texas and placing Sharia Law in the Texas justice system). ####

•Alana Goodman of the Jewish magazine Commentary reported that she received an email from an associate of Frank Gaffney saying they have no problem with the progressive Ismaili sect, who are a persecuted minority in Saudi Arabia and that Perry’s meeting with the Aga Khan would actually make him unpopular in that Mideast country.

The Aga Khan IV has received countless awards from countries around the world, including many from the US for his philanthropy and contributions to architecture.

His step-mother was the actress Rita Hayworth whose daughter (the Aga Khan’s half sister), Yasmin, has raised more than $42 million for the Alzheimer’s Association (Rita died from the disease).

He divorced from his wife, Princess Inaara Aga Khan (born Gabriele Homey) who in 2007, travelled to ISRAEL at the invitation of Shimon Peres, to support peace-building projects among Israeli and Palestinian children and meeting with regional leaders to promote tolerance as the foundation for peace in the Middle East.

In 2005, the UN and Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi hosted an emergency drill in collaboration with the ISRAELI EMBASSY.
Aga Khan family are doing good deeds throughout the world and are moderate Muslims who promote peace with ISRAEL.
Perry is very pro Israel.

He gave one speech and he’s a PAL??? {Rita Hayworth’s step son}.

More vomit and more garbage being spilled regarding Perry.

Was Reagan a Conservative Nightmare????

November 20, 1985: The late US President Ronald Reagan meeting with Soviet General Secretary Gorbachev at His Highness the Aga Khan’s mansion, Maison de Saussure, during the Geneva Summit.

President Reagan and Former First Lady Nancy Reagan had stayed at La Maison de Saussure, an 18th Century chateau a few miles north of Geneva and the Geneva home of Prince Karim Aga Khan.

President Ronald Reagan of the USA and his wife Nancy Reagan took over the Aga Khan’s 18th century Maison de Saussure in a village near Geneva as a base for the summit with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

President Reagan proclaimed at the end of that summit that he and Gorbachev had found a key to super-power peace (1985-11)

You are confusing this group with a group called Raza Unida.
The one Perry talked to does not believe in Reconquista.

Here are some facts and you can research to find out for yourself at the NCLR website:

http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/faqs/the_truth_about_nclr/other_issues/

Some critics mistakenly assert that activist Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez was a founder of NCLR.

In fact, while Gutierrez was a key player in a number of Mexican American organizations, including the Mexican American Youth Organization (MAYO), the Brown Berets, and the Raza Unida Political Party, he never had any connection to NCLR.

Jose Angel Gutierrez himself has articulated a clear distinction between himself and his allies and NCLR, an organization he criticizes as being “cautious and careful.”

http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/faqs/the_truth_about_nclr/reconquista_and_segregation/

misconception about NCLR is the allegation that we support a “Reconquista,” or the right of Mexico to reclaim land in the southwestern United States.

NCLR has not made and does not make any such claim; indeed, such a claim is so far outside of the mainstream of the Latino community that we find it incredible that our critics raise it as an issue.

NCLR has never supported and does not endorse the notion of a “Reconquista” or “Aztlán.” Similarly, NCLR’s critics falsely claim that the statement “Por La Raza todo, Fuera de La Raza nada,” [“For the community everything, outside the community nothing”] is NCLR’s motto.

NCLR unequivocally rejects this statement.

So many criticize Perry for not doing Obama’s job.

If they want Perry to do Obama’s job for him then they need to vote him into Obama’s position.

Perry as the Governor of Texas cannot completely secure an international border between United States and Mexico as Texas Gov and with only Texas resources.

Perry as the Governor of Texas cannot deport any illegals.

Perry as the Governor of Texas is forced by Federal Law to educate and medically treat illegals.

Perry has done more on the border than Obama has and it is not his job to do so. He has done it with as much Texas Taxpayers money as possible and with as much Texas resources as possible.

If people want Perry to do Obama’s job of securing the border, getting drug cartels (and the guns away from them that Obama gave them) and fix the illegal problem we have......
then they should vote for Perry to give him the job, responsibilities and the resources to do so.

THIS IS GREAT....LOOK WHAT TEXAS IS DOING ON THE BORDER...
TEXAS NOW HAS ITS OWN NAVY! The Department of Public Safety, Thursday, announced the launched of a Tactical Marine Unit.

{This is TEXAS not U.S. doing this}

Read more: http://www.myfoxaustin.com/dpp/video/Tactical-Marine-Unit-Launched-to-Patrol-Border-20111208-ktbcw#ixzz1hHXjkqyZ

• You are either ignorant of the facts or you are deliberately lying.

Perry has done more to secure the border than Obama has or any of the Republican candidates.

Perry and his Attorney General went to bat for Arizona against the Federal Government in the lawsuit.

Perry is for e-verify but only after it is fixed and working accurately. Perry has instilled the e-verify now at present.

Perry is for a fence in areas that it will work.

Perry does not support any tax subsidies for illegals.

Texas Universities make a NET PROFIT of $11 million dollars
(this is an old figure - very old - much more at present)
a year from tuition PAID by kids who were brought over the border by their parents that have qualified for college.

Perry has been taking to Obama for years already.

He has fought Obama (and Bush) on Stimulus, Tarp, Epa, Illegal Immigration and the list goes on.

Perry spent more (Texans) money and Texan manpower on the border than Obama did.

It was Obama that ran guns to the Mexican cartel.

Under Perry’s watch he created jobs while Obama lost jobs.

Perry is Pro-Life and defunded Abortion Clinics in Texas.

Perry got tort reform passed to help businesses hire more people.

Perry cut taxes in Texas.

Perry balanced the State budget.

Perry supports Israel - Obama did not.

Perry has awards from Israel for defending Israel.

Perry is stronger on the 10th Amendment.

Nobody and I mean nobody is stronger on the 10th Amendment than Perry.

Perry is stronger on the 2nd Amendment.

Nobody and I mean nobody is a stronger supporter of the right to own guns than Perry. Nobody.

Perry has experience.

Perry does not instill job killing regulations and would not ever.

Perry cut spending in Texas.

Perry served in our military as a C-130 Pilot in the United States Air Force.

Perry will NOT BOW DOWN TO ANYONE EXCEPT GOD.

YOU WILL NOT SEE PERRY APOLOGIZING FOR AMERICA!

Perry has had to deal with an international border that was suppose to be secured by the Federal Government on behalf of all the United States.

Perry has had to deal with Obama Administration that does nothing - except send troops to other countries.

Perry has had to deal with a United States Government that is corrupt and has committed treasonous crimes by running guns into Mexico to criminal drug cartels.

Perry has had to deal with a Supreme Court order that we educate illegals.

Perry has had to deal with a Homeland Security and ICE that will not punish violators, will not deport violators but instead puts them right back on the streets.

WHAT CANDIDATE has dealt with illegal immigration? and with a border not secured by Obama?

WHAT CANDIDATE has fought tooth and nail with Obama for years?

WHAT CANDIDATE has experience dealing with a 1200 mile border - they have not. They know nothing about it but
Perry does.

WHAT CANDIDATE has got laws passed to defund Abortion or made it mandatory that women get a sonogram before making that decision? Perry did.

Obama is fought back against Perry and Texas for doing so even while Planned Parenthood is closing down clinics here in Texas. But he Lost and Texas WON!

WHAT CANDIDATE got laws passed to require a Voter ID so that illegals cannot vote. Perry did. Obama and Holder fought against Perry and Texas and it is in effect for now.

WHAT CANDIDATE created an environment that resulting in a better standard of living? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE got tort reforms in place to get businesses back to hiring people? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE lowered taxes, lowered regulations and fought against Obama regarding the EPA? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE jumped in and helped Arizona in their fight against Obama? Perry did.

WHAT CANDIDATE put their constituents own money and manpower on the border to fight the drug wars? Perry did, Texans did and all the while Obama is running guns TO the cartel.

Perry takes crap from the Feds every day every week every month every year. And he still oversaw the best economy in the US.

WHAT CANDIDATE HAS BEEN HANDING OBAMA HIS ASS ALMOST DAILY?
RICK PERRY HAS.

You people need to wake UP and quit listening to the lies and distortions.

A lot of people do not want Perry to run for office or become the POTUS because he is a treat to them.

Why are conservatives attacking Perry when he has not even announced he is running yet? Ask yourself.

I did. Did the research to find out the truth.

And I can tell you that there are people who are afraid of Perry and quaking in their boots. Ask yourself why.

Thank you for this post Mom. I like Rick Perry, he isn't perfect but then who is perfect? Ronald Reagan? No he wasn’t perfect either but he was great! WE could do a lot worse than having Perry for president. How about a Cruz/Perry ticket? If that doesn't work Texas can succeed and keep Cruz/Perry here.

Yep they are on the rise across the USA.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mosques_in_the_United_States

Mosques in the United States quietly rose from 1,209 in 2000 to 2,106 in 2010.

“New York still has the greatest number of Islamic centers – 257 – followed by 246 in
California and 166 in Texas. Florida is fourth with 118,” the story said.

Have a good day.

Do you have an actual link to any of this?

If it happened in 2003, it was more than likely part of President Bush's 'Muslim outreach' program.

First, in any state which allows litigants to select a non-judicial arbitrator to settle disputes, you will have disputes between pious Muslims arbitrated by imams (who might organize themselves into a sharia court), disputes between pious (Orthodox, at least) Jews arbitrated by rabbis (who might organize themselves into a rabbinic court), and disputes between pious Christians of confessions which maintain a notion of apostolic succession arbitrated by bishops. This is a non-issue, provided when the civil courts approach the issue on appeal they apply American civil law with only a nod to the religious law to the extent that some contractual agreement to apply it the dispute makes it relevant.

Second, when FReepers or others doubt the existence of a moderate, peaceful version of Islam, they are ignoring (whether by ignorance or willfully) the Ismaili Muslims (or “Sevener” Shi’ites) whom the Aga Khan leads. Ismailis have perpetrated no acts of terrorism and, indeed, regard jihad as warfare against the infidel as illegitimate unless sanctioned by the Aga Khan. And a long succession of Westernized, Oxbridge educated Aga Khans which shows no likelihood of changing course has shown no inclination to sanction any such thing.

We are in a hot war with Sunni salafists and in a cold war with Ta’ajili Shi’ites (who run Iran). Along with the orthodox (non-Ta’ajili) Twelver Shi’ites (e.g. the followers of al Sistani), the Ismailis are natural and probably reliable allies against our Muslim enemies. Sunnis who are currently our allies — those who follow the lead of Westernized national leaders like King Abduallah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and General al Sisi in Egypt — are problematic because a shift in religious sentiment much less drastic than a conversion to another religion or branch of Islam can “radicalize” them, i.e. turn them into salafists who want to wage war to establish a copy of the society Mohammed and the first Caliphs ran.
