I recall the game you remember. You can probably find the play on YouTube.

The Bo Story I recall was seeing him at old Arlington Stadium vs the Rangers. Probably in 1990. The Rangers pitcher was, I think, Charlie Hough -- the knuckleballer.

Bo swung at one pitch with everything he had...and virtually screwed himself into the ground. He looked, well, foolish.

But, on the very next pitch, he connected -- hitting a monster homer to dead center, into the teeth of a stiff south wind. It landed more than halfway up in the stands -- a place where nobody had ever gone before. Or ever would go, as the park came down after the '93 season.

Had there been no wind, it would've cleared the stands by a wide margin.

The effect on the crowd was profound. A mass gasp, then dead silence -- in awe of what they'd just seen. And heard. Even, perhaps, felt.
