Actor Liam Neeson on Paris attack: Americans have too many guns

While standing in front of a poster of himself brandishing a firearm in "Taken 3," actor Liam Neeson offered condolences for the victims of the recent terror attacks in Paris, then launched into a profanity-laced tirade against gun ownership in the United States, Breitbart.com reported Monday, citing Gulfnews.com. According to Neeson, gun ownership in America is "a (bleeping) disgrace."

"First off, my thoughts and prayers and my heart are with the deceased, and certainly with all of France, yesterday," he said. "I’ve got a lot of dear friends in Paris.” He then reportedly linked the attack to gun ownership in America.

“There’s too many (expletive deleted) guns out there,” he said. “Especially in America. I think the population is like, 320 million? There’s over 300 million guns. Privately owned, in America. I think it’s a (expletive deleted) disgrace. Every week now we’re picking up a newspaper and seeing, ‘Yet another few kids have been killed in schools.’”

"Let’s not get into it," he added when asked if the issue extends to police responsibility. "Let’s put it this way: I think a light has been shone on the justice system in America, and it’s a justifiable light.”

Breitbart's AWR Hawkins said Neeson apparently overlooked the fact that France is "rich in gun control," but all of the country's laws were unable to stop the brutal killings in Paris. Initially, reports said, French officers responding to the scene of the attack were forced to retreat because they were unarmed. Officers in Paris are given the option to carry firearms, TPNN said, but many apparently do not.

The Washington Post said that unlike the United States, French citizens do not have a right to keep and bear arms.

Like most actors/actresses, thinking is not Laim’s strong suit.

Yes, for Euro libs like Neeson it's just a crazy conundrum. Here you have about sixteen innocent people murdered where being armed might have saved a number of them against a country where many private citizens are armed. Who to blame for this slaughter? Why, the country where the slaughter didn't happen.

I do actually wonder how many Euro-libs think about their plight with large numbers of crazy Muslims running around their countries. The execution of Lee Rigby comes to mind. It had to take his killers some time to cut his head off. But nobody came to his rescue even though he was killed in broad daylight on a public street. If I see two crazy, Islamo-dressed fiends cutting the head off of one of my neighbors, I go get my .357 and blast the Islamo-fascist nutjobs.

Not a great moment for Irish logical thinking. Sixteen unarmed people get slaughtered by machine gun wielding Islamist nutcases who clearly didn't obey the law, and Neeson goes on a rant about armed Americans.

I suppose in his next "Taken" flick, Neeson will send flowers and a written appeal to his daughter's kidnappers begging them to let her go in the spirit of multicultural understanding. No guns or violence will be the flick. That should bring in the moviegoers. (snicker)

American entertainment is run by people hostile to the second amendment, and American rights.

Just saying.

The entire culture in Hollywood, is leftist. Completely.

He’s made a nice living doing what he’s told, saying what others tell him to say. That’s his world view; complete control by others. Of course he’s opposed to an armed population.

“Especially in America. I think the population is like, 320 million? There’s over 300 million guns.

Oh, I think there are a lot more than that. Just since 1998 there have been 156,000,000 gun applications and this is what they have just started to track. Just think of the fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers gun collections being passed down or the illegal guns being bought and sold on the black market(just like the French muslims were able to acquire in a society of pure gun control).

Instead of taking away peoples guns(which you will never be able to collect) maybe if your are going to import jihadist into your country you aught to protect your citizens by allowing gun owners to carry easily without government control. We would become a very polite society very quickly.

“Typical liberal jackwagon.”

It truly is a kind of sickness. Seriously. It's unbelievable to me how predictable and lacking of logic, open-mindedness, and critical thinking much of the left is. It's tragic, and scary. Ironically, they really believe they are the ‘intellectuals’.

Europe is not the seat of intellectualism, societal advancement, tolerance, culture, or social sophistication - contrary to the self-perception of the European and American left. It's just not. Not even close. Nonetheless, ‘Europe worship’ is another predictable and illogical characteristic of the left - especially the academic left, and the entertainment industry left.

Ironically, the people who will possibly be able to save Europe are the working class Europeans that would disappoint the left if they spent anytime with them - because they are very much like the working class people here. They don't dine daily on Stilton or foie gras, or drink expensive barolo, but they do wonder what the hell is happening to their countries.

It is mathematically impossible to have too many guns.

Dumbass.
