This column over the years has been interested in liberalism in a special way, as a coroner is interested in a corpse in a special way. Specifically I have been interested in the pathologies that laid the patient low. What precisely has been the cause of death?
The coroner asks what made a robust fellow a corpse. Was it a remorseless cancer or a tragic accident? Was it Huntington’s disease or something else, possibly, simple alcoholism? In the case of the liberal, the cause of death was almost certainly a massive overindulgence. Simply stated, the liberals attempted too much. They even attempted to solve problems that were not conventionally understood as problems. After all, there were no plausible solutions, for instance, for the elimination of poverty, which in America amounts to relative deprivation, not destitution. How can we solve a citizen’s relative deprivation?
As a result of liberalism’s morbidity there are places in America where the liberal once thrived but now has completely vanished. Consider talk radio. I can remember back when the liberal completely dominated the medium. Back in the late 1950s, the 1960s, even in the 1970s, there were people like Jerry Williams in Boston and Irv Kupcinet in Chicago. Now they are gone.
Even when Al Gore summoned the left’s billionaires to subsidize talk radio with something called Air America the endeavor utterly failed. Talk radio is the domain of conservatives. So dominant are conservatives in radio that today talk radio has become a synonym for conservatism. “Talk radio,” the voices of the left admonish (there are no voices of liberalism remaining), “is the enemy of Obamacare, of holding hands with moderate terrorists, of the minimum wage.”

I tried to listen to talk radio with Mario Cuomo (yes, THAT Mario Cuomo) perhaps 20 years ago. He didn’t last long. Oh, so painfully dull.

Right. A few years ago Alan Colmes was on here (DFW Metro) late at night. Blamed everything on Bush and conservatives. Callers attempting to express an opposing view would be cut off after about 2-3 sentences and he’d go to the next caller.
Geraldo was on here during the mornings, for maybe 3 months. One of the most racist radio show hosts!
I found out this morning that he was replaced by Beck! I only listened for about 20 minutes. He’s completely off his meds!

IIRC Mario Cuomo would terminate the caller just for uttering the word “liberal”.
He was insufferably arrogant & couldn’t tolerate the slightest disagreement. Cuomo didn’t discuss, he lectured.
What `capitalist pig’ wants to sponsor a show dedicated to overthrowing free enterprise? That’s what Cuomo did to New York, when he wasn’t enabling murderers by vetoing the death penalty for twelve straight years.

The fantasy world that liberals, leftists, commies, race pimps, muslims, homos, etc. live in is simply not talk worthy, because their ideas are based on untruth and are therefore exposed as lies by talking about them. The more they talk the dumber they sound. Thus they resort to mechanisms that shut down debate (such as PC, lawsuits, riots and cutting heads off). When your house is built of glass you try very hard to stay out of rock throwing fights. Conversely, conservative talkers thrive on ideas and debate.
Liberals are retarded drones unable to listen and even reach conclusions on an individual level.
Every thought and emotion and action is only for peer approval.
Damn the true consequence of their useful idiocy in the world.

WHY ARE THERE NO LEFTIES ON TALK RADIO?
Because lefty audiences are like babies: they respond only to shiny moving objects, which they see on tv, movie, phone, and tablet screens, not on radio.
Babies and libs lack the attention span for radio.
Why? No one listens to them, at least no enough people do. Talk Radio is a business it must have listeners in order to charge advertisers enough to pay expenses, liberal talk radio is a charity, ie PBS.
