Hezbollah fighters weren’t there for sight-seeing and Israel took them out before they could do major damage.

“Hezbollah-run television in Lebanon indicated the incident could prompt a ‘costly’ surge in tensions in the region.”
After regular threats of total annihilation, this one seems rather anticlimactic.

Israel needs to take out Hezbellah. It is ridiculous to let them fester on the border, constantly re-arming with newer and newer rockets and bombs. And threatening.

Jihad Mughniyeh (reported dead) is on the right in this photo from September 2013. On the left is Iranian General Qassem Soleimani who was reported to be injured in Iraq by ISIS a few days ago.

The biggest difference between Muslim terrorists in the middle east and the FARC in Colombia is that the FARC hides in jungles and is usually hard to find.

I sure hope that none of Jihad Mughniyeh’s goat consorts were hurt in the attack, and that the attack only killed some animals like Mughniyeh...

Yes, it was costly, for Islam. However not striking would have been costly for Israel.

They are correct, it will be costly. Into 2006, Israel spared the Lebanese populous from the combat operations. They were hopeful they would take the opportunity to rise up and read themselves of the Hezbollah/Syria/Iran cancer. Instead, Hezbollah has been legitimized and integrated into the government. Israel has already promised the gloves will be off the next time.
