I support the OT rules for the reason that in the old days all a team had to do was win the toss, and kick a field goal.

Now, if you win the toss you have to get a touchdown or safety. Anything less, and the other team at least gets a chance to handle the football.

The Seahawks put an exclamation point on why that's a good rule.

It's no longer who wins the toss.

You've got to earn the win.

The Seahawks did.

Under the sudden death rules the team that won the coin toss in overtime won the game less than 60% of the time.

If you lost the coin toss, it was up to your defense to win the game for you.
