They've been caught with their hand in the cookie jar before. As for the old saw that deflated footballs affect both teams equally, it doesn't. If a passing team is playing a rushing team and
knows about the deflation, it obviously gives the passing team a strong advantage.
If found guilty, then game forfeiture would be an appropriate penalty despite the uproar it would cause.

Did anyone even read the article and see how one team can use this as an advantage over another?
I guess the same sports experts that also claimed Stern was going to force a discount sale of the Clippers to Magic Johnson commented on this article.

This behavior would stop of the NFL started vacating achievements like the NCAA does. Look at Denvers SB’s in the late 90s. They were found guilty of violating the salary cap thus keeping top end players they should not have been able to afford under the rules every one else was playing under. They just got a token slap on the wrist. Cost of doing business I guess.

A slightly deflated ball would be easier to hold on to for a running back or receiver to prevent fumbles or bad catches.........
