Try taking that Tesla on a cross-country trip and then we see which of the two is practical. The BMW i8, which is both gasoline and battery powered, is my choice.

Use another car for long trips. Too much focus on range. Most days you don’t need more than 40 - 60 miles for the average commuter.

The Tesla has a motor for each wheel. Put a Hemi on each wheel and see what the Dodge can do! That’s a CAR, baby!

The BMW i8, which is both gasoline and battery powered, is my choice. I have a 3 Series diesel now and I love it.If I had stretched myself a bit I could have gone with the 5 Series diesel instead. But there's something really cool about a car that gets 49 *actual* miles per gallon on the Interstate and can climb Mt Evans (Colorado) without missing a beat.
