I was watching a show about the nazis last night that included a diary entry from a German who didn’t like Hitler.
She wrote....”Hitler Hitler Hitler, its all the socialists ever talk about. He promises them everything they want but I fear they’re being led by the nose.”
One very good read I had long ago, was the autobiography of Maria von Trapp.
She describes a brief encounter with Der Fuhrer in Vienna after the Anschluss. She saw him in a street cafe with his entourage.
The Baroness described him as a short, greasy, unpleasant man - with a braying, obnoxious laugh - and incredibly flatulent.
