Indeed he was! And one of the Great Voices of the Century - he could have sung Opera if he wanted - gave us a legacy of great songs that you don't have to be a musicologist to appreciate. But musicologists have taken notice of him - his work will endure.

I know he had a hard time getting his career off the ground. He had a 30-minute local show, but the poor guy was so homely!!

It was better to listen to him than to watch him...especially when he was a pimply-faced teenager! LOL!

He did have a very special voice and talent, for sure!
