Yes and no. Sharyl's article is short on details and so I followed the link and read the abstract for the underlying study. In my opinion, the underlying study is based upon 40 to 50 year old data and the conclusions rely upon loose correlations that result in a lot of "maybes" and "possibilities," as opposed to a reasonable degree of scientific and statistical certainty.
I wouldn't put anything they cobbled together in the past ten years into my body.

This is so sad, Why did this happen, She had took the Flu shot and then she ends up getting the flu that was supposed to protect. So why did this Happen to this Beautiful little girl. There is no cause for this! Some one needs to check in to this and find out what happen or Investigate to see what cause this.
The commonly used vaccine (trivalent, inactivated influenza vaccine or TIV) covers three strains: two types of influenza A and a single influenza B strain. Protection is strain-specific, so the vaccine will generally only provide good protection against the included strains.
The the flu vaccine only works against the specific strains. If you get another strain, you're out of luck.
Here's how the flu vaccine gets made.
1. The specific strains to be included in the vaccine are selected in the Spring. By necessity, this is an educated guess to decide which strains are likely to erupt 10 months later. It is unknowable.
2. Once the strains are chosen, the vaccine manufacturers order millions of eggs to use to incubate and grow the virus.
3. The virus then then to be isolated and separated out of the eggs and deactivated.
4. Then the deactivated virus must be process and mixed with the holding medium, packaged and then distributed.
5. The vaccine then must be injected into the appropriated targeted people.
These vaccine-whiners demand perfection, anything else is complete failure and possibly a nefarious corporate plot. This is childish, ignorant, stupid and dangerous. See the Disneyland measles outbreak that is spreading like wildfire among the unvaccinated children, who are unvaccinated because their (liberal/left-wing) parents have bought into this childish nonsense. These are Obama voters. It's not only in voting that these people are dangerous fools.
Norovirus is another reason to keep children out of daycare. It is rampant in those places too.
