We had an FSA but dropped it because the paperwork requirements were onerous. Receipts had to be copied on to an 8 1/2 x 11, one page per receipt. Postage to mail the d@mn packet was about $3.00. Of course when you’re getting over a grand back that isn’t a bad return....except that it is “your” money in the first place.

I normally fund my FSA with $50/paycheck. About $1300. That gets uses for eye glasses and covering some of our $9,000 in deductibles. We manage to use every penny. More funding would be better, but we have to deal with two employers and two plans. Or we did until my hours got cut from 40 to 12 each week. I dropped my medical and lost eligibility to fund my HSA. My wife is burning through the existing HSA/FSA balances with some recent surgeries.
