The use of profanity is basically the sign of a low IQ. Your brain cannot come up with a better phrase or word fast enough.
Our military must be populated with complete dumbasses then.

Indeed. I am the daughter of a steamfitter and have been a OR/Critical care nurse since 1977. I was raised to know better, but am capable of swearing in five languages. I learned more invective from physicians than construction workers.
Listening to the low level of intelligence communicated in both groups, I have reduced my use of swear words to the exceptionally deserving situation usually directed at myself. I would also ban “like” and “you know”.
My mother used to say that men who used profanity just had a limited vocabulary. She did not have to say that about women because it was understood that a woman would not use bad language. Well, unless she was trashy.
