McConnell Gets In Media's Face: Kochs Should Be As Free to Spend As Media Companies Do
newsbusters.org ^ | 1/30/3015 | Tim Graham

Posted on 01/30/2015 8:29:22 AM PST by rktman

The front page of Thursday’s USA Today newspaper reported on a Susan Page interview with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The headline was “McConnell is unyielding on Iran, defiant on Kochs.”

The media define “defiant” as “willing to suggest the media are free-speech hypocrites.” Page suggested the amount of Koch spending was inappropriate, just too large. She told McConnell “jaws dropped this week” when the Koch brothers announced they would spend $889 million in the 2016 cycle.

Ted Cruz won’t get my vote until he stops backing H1B Visas for the ‘FAKE’ shortage of STEM workers - replacing American jobs with employees shipped from overseas..

http://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=137

Right there on his site - he’s all in favor of raising the visa cap, just like Rubio and Walker.

Tell him to stop supporting the importation of foreign labor by increasing H1B’s up to 500% then.

There is no larger effort afoot to undermine the middle class than this one.

If he’s changed his stance on this, he needs to clarify ASAP.

Jeff Sessions is the only conservative senator speaking out against more H1B’s. I wish he’d run...

Cruz' statement:

It will also make block grants available to states to promote STEM education efforts and increase domestic STEM professionals.

“I strongly support legal immigration. Legal immigration is a fundamental pillar of our nation's heritage, and I was pleased today to offer legislation that would have improved and expanded legal immigration by dramatically increasing the cap for high-tech temporary worker visas.

This amendment would not only improve the current system, but would also encourage economic growth and create new jobs in America. There is currently a serious shortage of workers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, yet every year we send thousands of high-tech graduate students back to their home countries to start businesses and create jobs. This makes no sense. I’m disappointed in the committee’s vote to reject expanding high-tech immigration.

Although the Gang of Eight's bill makes a modest step towards improving high-tech immigration, it does not go nearly far enough. There is no reason to arbitrarily cap high-tech visas at 110,000 when these jobs are going unfilled. We need economic growth here and now.”

The shortage is a complete farce. For every two Americans that graduate with STEM degrees, 1 is getting hired by an American company. There are an estimated 50,000 Americans with STEM degress out of work right now, because Chamber members and Silicon Valley would rather pay an imported worker 30% of what Americans in these positions would make.

They also don't have to pay their healthcare - so you can also thanks Obamacare for this shift. But rather than fix that problem, the GOP-e along with other Repubs who are apparently easily duped (or bought):

Sessions gave a monumental speech on the Senate floor a few months ago about the phony shortage and who is pushing for the added H1B's. Cruz is being duped by the GOP-e and the Chamber on this one:

>>>When is this man EVER going to keel over and die???? It is waaaaaay past his time!!!!!!!!!<<<<

The GOP loves old losers. Like Bob Dole (I’m Bob Dole) and John McCain. And heck, that’s just the top spot. Look around at all the old geezers in congress like Pat Roberts, Mitch McConnell or Lamar Alexander. Those guys couldn’t even figure out how to push through a conservative agenda (Like when the republicans had congress under GW Bush).

So I don’t really blame Romney for thinking he could have the nomination one more time.

As much as I like to criticize Turtletop, he’s been consistent on this issue.
