I give a damn and I think most of us on here (certainly those of us who post from AZ) care.
I used to read the State Press every day while in college. Long time ago, like the Arizona Republic, it used to be a fairly good newspaper. I particularly looked forward to the April 1st addition of the “Stale Mess”. Sadly the “newsprint”, television “media”, some of radio, are just shysters for the Illegal Immigration Lobby and the Democrat/Socialist Party.
Arizona media seems a bit quaint now.
It still has a 1970s outlook that is inherently counterculture/Left. Back when people still thought the SPLC and the ADL were actually honest brokers of egalitarian thought.
Everyone else has moved on and understands the Lie that these organizations are and what they really are about: money and power for themselves, societal destruction for everyone else. Finger Pointing for Profit.
And that outlook has one component that is also now understood to be not just misguided but insane: treating hostile and essentially terrorist sub-groups as “victim” groups.
The Powers That Be on campus in Arizona and in the media there are dominated by people from the 1970s and those who were trained by tenured radicals from that time. Thus the tripe they print and put out.
But it’s clear to anyone that it is they who are out of step with reality. Anyone paying attention - like you - can look around and say, um - it’s not us that are the problem.
And so the media in Arizona is engaging in an old game which will actually delegitimize them. Anyone with a brain will say, “why are they sympathising with creeps like the liar at CAIR?”.
It’s like trying to see the soft side of the Grinch. Understand him! Feel his pain! He hasn’t been able to subjugate us, and he feels bad about that! We must repent.
That Thug Just Needs a Hug.
Undoubtedly the guy hanging up the posters probably is some sort of marginal clown, or even a government funded front.
But to use that to promote the welfare of terrorist enablers is ridiculous in it’s own right.
The reflexively Leftist media in AZ has made itself vulnerable to anyone who wants to start a competitive outlet that is more aligned with American attitudes now.
Not worn out post-60s sensibilities pushed by aging guys with gray pony tails, who still think the problem with America is too many WASPs.
