Hundreds of thousands of people marched through Madrid on Saturday in a show of strength by a fledgling radical leftist party, which hopes to emulate the success of Greece's Syriza party in the Spanish general election later this year.
Podemos supporters from across Spain converged around the Cibeles fountain Saturday before packing the avenue leading to Puerta del Sol square in what was the party's largest rally to date.

Delusional...
The votes for radical left parties are out of pure desperation. Citizens in these countries didn’t vote for forever debt to German banks and civilization-ending invasion, any more than US citizens voted for forever debt and civilization ending invasion to benefit our elite. Haven’t they been told that they can’t vote their way out of the EU? Maybe being kicked out is the only way out.
In times of crisis nations tend to move leftward...more government...fewer liberties. Until recently, say 1865, that was true of the USA too. Not so much anymore.
(AP) has tingle in leg..
” Citizens in these countries didnt vote for forever debt to German banks and civilization-ending invasion”
No not in so many (or few) words, but in voting themselves benefits they couldn’t pay for and debt that they couldn’t repay they essentially did vote for it.
And now in voting for a radical leftist party that promises to restore all those bennies they’ll be voting for even more suffering.
Agreed. Up until now, there is little "right wing" opposition that is allowed, and much like the USA, the "acceptable" form of protest is left-wing in nature. Sadly, the parties on the continent that promote their native culture and national independence also have very fascist/leftist ideas on economics. As you point out, that doesn't leave much to choose from when one is very displeased with affairs as they are.
I seem to remember Mussolini's granddaughter active in right wing politics in Italy....
Hrere it is....
BBC News - Italy's mixed feelings about Fascism www.bbc.co.uk/.../world-europe-21260... British Broadcasting Corporation Jan 30, 2013 - But for decades after the war, the right-wing MSI (Italian Social Movement) led ... Mussolini's grand-daughter Alessandra is still active in politics.
The grand daughter of the late Fascist leader Benito Mussolini has defended her relatives political beliefs and wartime actions by saying it was better than being a faggot.
Alessandra Mussolini, a member of a right wing party just welcomed into Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconis coalition, made the derogatory comments on a TV chat show in Italy
AND NOT GUILTY
Hey...Boehner....invite Miss Mussolini to address the House....dims discombobulated.
I'd have to hang her by her feet (gently of course) for an hour or so to be sure.
you’re correct but theres no way this wasn’t going to occur.
Mussolini was a socialist left leaning progressive her politics are qite progressive as well.
Promise the people free stuff in exchange for their freedom and they’ll vote for you every time. It’s worked for our RATs for several generations now.
and all the kings horses and all the kings men won’t put the EU back together again.
The entire EU is a lab experiment testing the Thatcher truism of running out of other peoples money to spend. We sadly are not terribly far behind.
one really important thing to know.

Their 10 year bond yields 1.42%. This is purely based on ‘other peoples money’ in this case Germany’s. Greek debt was already in the toilet. If this party polls well over the summer the European financial crisis which has been papered over for the past several years will be front and center in all its ugly glory once more.
well geeee
