Wasn’t it around that time that Walter Cronkite declared the Vietnam War was a lost cause?

And didn’t the media at the time report that the Tet offensive was an overwhelming North Vietnamese victory, even though it was not a military victory for them??? Which in turn greatly influenced public opinion in this country???

It was shortly after that Cronkite declared the war a lost cause.

Had he had that job in January of 1945 he would have claimed the Allied invasion of Europe a lost cause and called for a negotiated settlement.
