Gov. Jerry Brown Hit With Massive $1 Billion Common Core Bill

A rather expensive development has surfaced on the way to installing Common Core in California’s hundreds of school districts statewide. Officials have figured out that the big government initiative could collectively cost districts $1 billion every year to set up a new statewide testing system supporting the new curriculum.

The question is, who’s going to pay for it? According to the Santa Ana School District, the state, not the district, should foot the bill. Santa Ana along with three other school districts submitted a class action complaint, demanding that California pay for the “next generation” Smarter Balanced Assessments based on national Common Core standards.

The Orange County Register reported that the Santa Ana Unified school district, which consists of 57,000 students, projects $12 million in district costs pertaining to the Common Core tests, which includes $8.1 million for devices, $3.3 million for bandwidth and infrastructure, plus other significant outlays for accessories and training.

Sheesh...are you a teacher?

Nope.
Though it seems that you missed the punchline of my joke:
But yeah, everyone agrees on the uselessness of bureaucrats. ;)

Are you suggesting that Jesus could not?

Um, the second line of my post:
Jesus could do, and he taught as well.

Your post makes no sense as Jesus covered all of it.

If we're talking paying for sin, yes.
If we're talking about the progression of do to bureaucrat, no… we have no writings of Jesus himself (therefore journalist is out), and He isn't a bureaucrat.

The point of my post was mostly a joke: But yeah, everyone agrees on the uselessness of bureaucrats. ;)
The smaller point was a counterpoint to the first two elements in the progression: Jesus did and taught; the disciples taught and recorded (reporting/testifying, which could be construed as journalisting).

Yes, evil might be one name for it but developed by Bill Ayers???? Really??? I think that’s bad info.

Ayers himself may not have developed Common Core. But he inspired it.

For a decade or two, Ayers was considered the high chief guru of secondary school curriculum development in the USA. And he was the inspiration for many who actually developed Common Core.

They tried to destroy math in the 1960’s, the mean to finish it now.

“In the example I was wondering where the 81 came from.”

Me, too. If that’s an actual example of how they require the problem “3x9=?” to be solved, they should be shot. There is no way a normal child should be required to jump through that many mental hoops to answer such a simple problem.

The goal might actually be to destroy a child’s ability to learn, as Talisker said.

Probably 3/4 of that bill can be attributed to illegals

> That’s not real, is it?

The real (hidden) objective is to learn how to think the way they want you to. No thinking for yourself. Your overlords will teach you how to think...and be subservient.

That can’t be right. Using that method, 3 * 6 equals 3 divided into 6-squared or 36 which results in 12 rather than 18.

In the example I was wondering where the 81 came from.

81 is 9 squared. So in order to do basic multiplication, apparently, you need to be able to do exponents in your head.

Smarter Balanced Assessments based on national Common Core standards. They meet our guidelines and are good for the homeland.

Sounds like an official Communist communique.

Right. But why introduce the square of nine when it’s not needed?

Since my original post had nothing to do with Christ, obviously you were joking and mocking Him by injecting Him into your “joke”.

Good to know...you, slimeball.
