Deep down I think he is a squish.

Wait... is someone trying to tell me that all conservatives won’t agree on all issues all of the time?
Just how are we to nominate anyone?

Looks and sounds presidential---a record of winning---no Bush/Rubio baggage.
Indiana Gov Mike Pence---dedicated pro-lifer.
As a US Cong/man, spoke at the March for Life.

Why do we need an immigration policy? Why not enforce the laws and legal policy that is already on the books?

Now agreeing on stopping and reversing the invasion of the US is a stopper. We do not need another Chamber of Commerce cheerleader pretending to represent US citizens.

Definitely not a squish, but he's pragmatic. Because of years of neglect and Dem malfeasance, this is a problem without a clean solution.
Didn't hear the whole thing, but that Martha Rat-ass is a real piece of work.

If we nominate someone who will grant citizenship to illegals, then being a conservative will cease to have any significance at all.

From ‘The Hill’, July 3, 2013:
Walker was then asked about the estimated 11 million immigrants living in the country illegally. The editorial board asked if he could “envision a world where with the right penalties and waiting periods and meet the requirements where those people could get citizenship?”
“Sure,” Walker responded. “I mean I think it makes sense.”

Why do we need an immigration policy? Why not enforce the laws and legal policy that is already on the books? You're right. AFTER we enforce the laws on the books THEN we can discuss an 'immigration policy'....

stressing that hes not for amnesty, before arguing that a balance needs to be struck: Were a country both of immigrants and of laws. We cant ignore the laws in this country. We cant ignore the people whove come in [illegally]. (emphasis added)
Translation: I am for amnesty.

Because of years of neglect and Dem malfeasance, this is a problem without a clean solution.Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't the GOP been equally culpable in this mess? I seem to recall the grass roots having to mobilize to stop terrible amnesty plans supported by much of the GOP office holder and leadership class.

Everyone knows it is not possible to deport 11 million people.
Well, it is possible, if you operated your country like you were Hitler or Stalin, but it is not very possible here.
The solution? Don’t allow any more illegal immigrants, and keep arguing about what to do about the illegal immigrants already here until they all die of old age....

Wait... is someone trying to tell me that all conservatives wont agree on all issues all of the time? Just how are we to nominate anyone?Fair enough. But some issues are deal killers. Immigration (amnesty/open borders) is one of them.
I'm still not clear on Walker's position on this yet. But ultimately, if I don't like his position on immigration, I won't vote for him.

But what immigration policy is he for? How about the current one?
Just close the borders and enforce the laws we have, dammit!

As a Southerner it is funny listening to a Wisconsin Governor wiggle on the issue of illegal aliens which is a form of slave labor. Walker is a squish on the border and immigration.

I think illegals were kicked out in the late 1940s. Maybe again in the 1950s...
To: C19fan
There’s a concerted effort to run Walker down.
RINO GOPe and others are trying to run him down as a “squish” when the thing is, those doing it are not squishy on it, they are full on liquid when it comes to the issue they try to tar him with.
To: proxy_user
Do you understand the concept of self deportation?

Didn't hear the whole thing, but that Martha Rat-ass is a real piece of work.
He was billed as the sole guest. Raddatz tried to get some knock-out sound bites. It didn't happen. She tried on Foreign Policy. That didn't work, so she quickly moved to immigration. [Immigration has become a litmus-test issue.] Walker still didn't give her a blockbuster. She ended the interview and went to the panel, after the break.
Walker got about 5 minutes of air time. Raddatz was not getting what she wanted. Walker came out of Iowa as the frontrunner. That was counter to NYT polling that has Jeb Bush as the frontrunner, after Romney's dropping out.

It would have worked with illegal immigrants who had been here 2 or 3 years. But I don’t think it is very feasible today. If illegal immigrants could not get jobs, some would leave, but not many.
