Baloney. Hate to break it to you, but your chosen religion does not cross the average Jewish person’s mind with any regularity.
The reason Jewish people are liberal in the USA is because:
1. They are urban Yankees. And thus vote like urban Yankees (that’s about 80% of it).
The remaining 20% is:
2. Tendency towards elite education, which comes with baggage.
3. Historical accident of time of immigration, from where, and how they were treated from same
4. Creepy, clearly fake, preacher types like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum are a turn off (the closes to your point)
5. Country-club Republicans (e.g., James Baker) and Paleo-Conservatives like Pat “Never Met A Nazi He Didn’t Like” Buchanon were historically very anti-Semitic.
6. Tendency to identify with the underdog, due to historical persecution
7. Weak theology in Reform communities, which make them a sucker for tikmum olam at the governmental level
“They are urban Yankees. And thus vote like urban Yankees (thats about 80% of it).”
That’s my take on it, where Jews tend to live probably is the most influential factor. I mean is there a group that tends to live in urban areas as much as Jews do who vote any differently? I have tried to find a voting split for urban/rural living Jews before but my search-fu is weak.

Absolutely spot on. I could not agree with you more. Taking it from another perspective, why are there so many Christian and Catholic liberals? It's a complex answer that involves cultural assumptions, willingness (or lack of) to take alternative views seriously and educational experiences.
Finally a decent answer. However, the actual real reason is mine, though yours are the reasons behind the reason. See my recent post. I’ve been there and it is not for the feint of heart.
