On Tuesday, the American Civil Liberties Union sued the Department of Defense for failing to disclose the admissions policies which result in an underrepresentation of women in military academies.
Joined by the Service Womens Action Network, the ACLU is looking to determine exactly why the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point admit women at a much lower rate than men, but the DOD has so far been uncooperative. The lawsuit states that the DOD has violated Freedom of Information Act deadlines by not releasing admission policy information.

“Death to America” — motto of the ACLU
Why doesn’t the ACLU simply ask the Commander-In-Chief?
About 30% of the population is considered obese. Yet, I don’t see this segment of the population represented at the service academies. Obviously, this is descrimination. The service academies are funded through tax dollars, and obese people pay taxes. Therefore, the government is required to ensure that 30% of the cadets at the service academies are obese.
This should be queued up right after their suit against the NBA and NFL for disproportionate representation of race and gender.
Isnt it discriminatory that there are no.women in the NBA? Couldn’t the top women players compere against men? There are many major universities with women’s basketball programs. Why are their women players relegated to separate but equal status? Where is the ACLU in this area?
Could it be that far more men apply to the service academies than females?
Non-Profit Groups Sue DOD To Disclose Why There Arent More Women
And while they’re at it, why are there more men in prison than women? Talk about sexist!
That’s the irrefutable response to those complaining about the disproportionate amount of black men in prison.
Why aren’t there more Asian women in prison than there are?
And, on another topic, the interracial rape stats prove that white men are racist in choosing their victims.
It stabs the heart of the difference between liberals and conservatives: Conservatives view everything from the viewpoint that each and every human being is an individual.
Liberals see humanity as “groups” or, worse, “the masses”. At their very core they do not value the individual while, to the conservative, the individual is king.
It’s why liberals, “individually” are a very sad lot. They don’t value themselves until they belong to some group, from which they believe their rights flow. Conservatives believe each individual has God given rights.
I could go on and on, but you get my gist. Two completely and mutually exclusive world views. It will not end well.
I’ll save them some lawyers fees and provide the answer, but they won’t like it.
I was on the faculty of the Military Academy when women were first admitted. Women are less attracted to military careers in general, they are less interested in math and science disciplines that constitute the core of the academic program, and they are less interested in the immersion in an athletic environment for all cadets, regardless of their athletic aptitude. In short, women are less likely to be attracted to the education and lifestyle that are offered by the military academies. The result is that it’s harder to find fully qualified women cadets who can make it through the program. Four years as a member of the United States Corps of Cadets is not for the faint hearted or marginally motivated young man or woman.
IIRC, about 10% of each class are former enlisted, while 90% +/- of each class are appointed by congressmen/senators.
Ask the politicians why they don’t appoint more women.
Well said!
Of course, the insanity of promoting the notion that the sexes are interchangeable in their aptitudes for various forms of employment is insane. (Feminist Delusion)
It is equally insane to accept the notion that the ACLU has any interest in protecting freedom of conscience, inquiry or association in America. (Leftwing Word Games.)
I have been observing the ACLU war on American Liberty over two generations, and that they still can get away with the continuing farce, is truly amaxing.

Be careful what you wish for. They have doubtless considered whether there is some way they can confine Congress to accepting a new formula for assessing who is qualified. The one thing that is certain, is that the ACLU’s standards would never be in America’s interest.
Well of course the obese should be represented and they should have a certain percentage of blind and deaf people in the military academies, it’s only fair, right?
