There are no statutes to punish a president for high crimes against the sovereign people. No DOJ is going to bring charges to a grand jury.
The grand jury for high crimes is the House of Reps.
Also, there are about 1.1 guns per American. IIRC, Connecticut has some sort of gun registration law which is entirely ignored,

I agree. But that's not going to stop the left, and once the 2A is gone from the BoR, the left will initiate a nonstop assault like we've never seen against gun owners. Don't think we'll fight back, either. We're a nation of pu$$ies at this point. If we can be counted on to fight back, we already would have done so. To fight back would require far too much sacrifice, and we are too busy trying to survive and pay our bills to make bigger sacrifices or to risk the ability to pay the mortgage, etc.
I'm not entirely against an Article V convention - there certainly is potential for improvement with one, however, I don't buy into it as the panacea that Levin and his supporters have been making it out to be. We have amendments on the books now that are being ignored. We have laws that are being ignored. Ultimately, I don't see where adding to those will make a whole lot of difference. We have term limits now! Vote the ba$tards out! It really is that simple. Enforce the laws we have, and do it strongly, then we can talk about additions and changes.
It seems the only way to get the undivided attention of FedGov™ is to lobe artillery shells into one of their forts.
It is shown deference because groups like the NRA visit electoral hell on errant politicians.
There is general press freedom not because of the First Amendment, but because of similar, guaranteed electoral hell from the media.
Return the states to the senate via Article V and the 10th Amendment will be respected once again.
Christian churches should do the same. Islam sure does, for no slight, real or imagined escapes the notice of CAIR.
For practical purposes, our rights exist as long as a public group exists to protect them.
Honor the Constution, use the Consitution to give the power BACK to the States!
Well, that is pretty much up to the out of control congress, isn’t it. When the call for article V is made by the states, Congress must respond, no? Keep watching the Convention of State Legislatures, who will meet this summer in Denver, and Salt Lake City in December.
