President Obama will host a half-dozen Dreamers — illegal immigrants here under his temporary deportation amnesty — at the White House on Wednesday as he tries to fight back against Republicans’ efforts to cancel his immigration policies.
A White House official said the president would meet with Dreamers from Texas, Maryland, Nevada, Connecticut, New York and Virginia, using them as evidence for why congressional Republicans should relent and allow his amnesties to remain in effect.
“The meeting takes place as Congressional Republicans are threatening to block funding for critical national security priorities for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) because they disagree with the President’s executive actions to make our immigration system smarter, fairer, and more effective,” the White House official said.
“Instead of working with Democrats and the president to fix our broken immigration system, Congressional Republicans’ funding proposal makes things worse by undercutting our efforts to strengthen security at the border and by focusing our enforcement resources on deporting low priority individuals like the young Dreamers who are meeting with the president.”
Dreamers are illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children by their parents, and are considered the most sympathetic figures in the illegal immigration debate. Mr. Obama in 2012 announced an executive action granting an amnesty to them. Then late last year he announced a new amnesty that both expanded the Dreamer program and created a new amnesty for Illegal immigrant parents whose children are either citizens or legal permanent residents....

Come into the country, break our laws and then be invited into the white house while receiving welfare or getting to work without paying taxes.

To get a self guided tour of the White House, you have to submit to a background check months in advance and all visitors need current valid government ID.
Glad to know these basic requirements are waived if you are not a citizen.
When did they start doing self-guided tours again? After 9/11 there was a period when only certain military families could tour the White House, as it was assumed that they’d been vetted already. My sister and her officer husband were able to do this but I would’ve been turned away.
OK let me get this straight, school children and American citizens are shut out of the White Hut tours based on some bogus budgetary reason but illegals and muslims are welcomed with open arms? Fundamentally changed . . . Oh Yeah!
The small time street gangs in Chicago operate under the protection of the aldermen. The aldermen function with the permission of City Hall. City Hall operates at the direction of a bunch of Old Guys in River Forest.
The Old Guys are somewhat distracted with their ownership of the White House and the DoJ, though. They have to throw the occasional fish to the barking seals, like Silver, in New York. However, they've basically done what they were trying for when they gave the 1960 election to JFK.
