No, I am NOT saying that no matter what I will vote for a Republican. I voted for Ross Perot in ‘92 and along with a few million other folks, I am responsible for giving the U.S., and the world, the Clinton scumbags for the rest of our lives. Yes, I have “a line in the sand”; two actually: Abortion and Same-sex marriage. Any candidate espousing either, or both, of those will NEVER get my vote.
Scott Walker says he is NOT for Amnesty. He is so AWESOME! on all the other issues, I want to believe him. Besides, my mama used to say: “A wise man will change his mind, but a fool never will.” If he was pro-Amnesty at one time, maybe he changed his mind.
I don't know about you, but after what has gone on the last few years, I am at war with not just the left, but the Republican establishment as well.
Before the Iowa summit, Cruz was on every Conservative web site, comments about Cruz for President were EVERYWHERE! Links to Cruz speeches, his filibuster, etc. Then, Walker gives one good speech in Iowa and a Drudge poll has him winning by over 50%? This is the same Drudge site that the gope used last primary season to take out Conservative opponents and get Romney the nomination. This poll was never meant to inform, but to influence. We have got to quit being played by the gope!
You mentioned to me that one big issue for you is same sex marriage. That is really not an issue for me. But, I do know it is for many, so I would be foolish to say I wanted a candidate that didn't accommodate your views. Nobody can be all things to all people, but we have to listen when people are giving you their lines in the sand. For me, I will not support anyone without proof they have stood up to the Republican establishment. We keep saying we can't have a 3rd party and must take over this one. Well, we can't do that with squishy R's. This list is very short. So far I have only seen evidence about Walker that he leans more establishment then he leans rogue like Cruz. If there is evidence to the contrary, I will consider it. I have done my own research, and I am not finding it. For me right now, it is still only Palin or Cruz.
I am a Ted Cruz guy. He’s my Senator. As far as Sarah: I love her to pieces. I was pushing Sarah before John McCain ever picked her for his running mate. But, she has been so demonized by the media, I don’t think she’s electable. That might be why she did not run against Begich for the AK Senate Seat last year. Even some Conservative-leaning folks have bought into the bill of goods that she is a bimbo. WHAT A SHAME!!!
What do you think of Gov. Susana Martinez of NM? Female (That takes out the “War on Women” issue and gives America a choice other than Hildebeast for our first female President.), Latina (That can’t hurt with the Hispanic vote.), Executive Experience...... But, is she Conservative enough? I’m asking because I want to know. I know she is Pro-Life and the Hispanic community does not go for same-sex marriage. What say ye?
I really think to turn this country around we have to get the low info voters to listen. I think most Americans really are good people, and for this sad group, they have fallen into the position of being shamed into false beliefs by Hollywood, the press, etc. They honestly believe they are on the side of good.
That is why I think Sarah Palin is the perfect choice to run. I would not be able to wait to SHOW them what nasty, vile, misogynist things their icons have said about a good, decent woman. The other issue is abortion after 20 weeks. How hard is this to stand up and say this is totally disgusting. Point out Kermit Gosnell, ask them why their favorite news outlet didn't think it important enough to cover it.
Most importantly to make this happen, all of us need to get a backbone and quit making excuses. I have heard people lie or mock Sarah Palin, and other than me, there was silence.
I can't help think that if we don't try to right this wrong that was done to this brave patriot, we deserve what we get.
One more thing, I no longer identify as Republican or Conservative in conversation. I am now “ a proud tea party patriot”. There reaction lets me know if this is someone I want to hang with anymore. It's a time saver. It's particularly fun with someone you have known for awhile, but never talked politics with. You asked about Martinez. I don't know much about her. I am kind of done looking though. It's like when someone is given too many choices and so you compromise. Meh, end up with the gope choice in the end. Kind of like when you ask your kids do you want milk or water with dinner. They are going to try to get away with saying soda, or cool aid. Nope, the gope has 2 choices. Lets not let them think we can be swayed away from either of them. We need a real united front.
