After a 2012 election dominated by Mitt Romneys car elevator and his ill-considered quips about government dependency and firing people, Republicans are bent on becoming the party of the 47 percent. Jeb Bush is just the latest GOP White House hopeful to put the plight of the poor at the center of his candidacy, a dramatic course correction for a party thats long been tagged as beholden to the rich. With Romneys exit from the 2016 field last week, Bush is the only viable superwealthy Republican running for office he has made millions working in private equity and sitting on corporate boards since leaving the Florida governorship eight years ago and hes clearly determined not to repeat the 2012 nominees mistakes.

All the Bush’s are to the left of Romney in my opinion. The only prominent republicans that are further left than the Bush’s are McCain and Graham
Then you are totally ignorant of Mitt Romney.
No major republican has ever been as far left as Mitt, who actually left the republican party because of Reagan and eventually became a supporter only of democrat candidates, nationally and fund raised as a democrat and even voted democrat in 1992, and did not become a republican again until October of 1993, where he proved to be a hard core lefty.
You probably know little about him until his 2012 campaign where he was trying to hide his actual politics and play like being merely a rino, but perhaps you remember that after he won the nomination, he returned to his pro-abortion position? Perhaps his decades long goal to homosexualize the military, or have gay Scout leaders?
Both the same. Neither will get my vote.
I have no idea why we are arguing over Romney. Who both of us agree is very liberal.
Romney isn’t running, lets move on.
You brought up Romney with inaccurate claims, I was correcting you.
Let’s just get the facts correct and not rewrite history and political facts.
I’m not going to speculate on the open primary states. If the GOPe wanted to win, they would close more primaries.
Jeb might be good for the party... I don’t mean the Republican’s, I mean whatever 3rd party would get started in response to him getting the nomination.
I didn’t think anyone except Krispy Kreme could be left of the Romulan, I was wrong, Jeb has done it.
Yeh he’s way worse than Mitt. I can’t wait til they fill Detroit up with illegals. That’l bring it back. LOL!
If you want to believe Romney is more liberal than John McCain then we have nothing further to talk about.
That’s too bad, I could educate you about a politician that you don’t know anything about.
You missed the 2008 primary here at FR, just like in 2012 Romney was THE man to beat.
