. . . .
After the robber demanded money, Chitwood said the older man immediately reached out to the gunmans right hand and attempted to take control of the gun.
A struggle ensues this is a 67-year-old tangling with a much younger man and as (the robbery victim) starts to lose his balance, he reaches into his waistband and pulls out his gun, a .38-caliber revolver, Chitwood said. As hes falling backwards, he fires one shot.
The robbery suspect, described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, was shot once in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

hope he makes it....good shot...
Attacked by younger, stronger man, shoots while falling as a result of the attack - still manages to get a fatal head shot!
Gun control personified.
We still have not identified him, Chitwood said early Wednesday evening. We recovered from the scene what looks like a handgun, but is actually a pellet gun or an airgun.
Paging "Reverend" Al? (Or can we all hope that there are too many dead ne'er-do-wells to protest them all?)
Didn’t even have time for a last rap!
If just one life can be saved isn’t CCW worth it?
I'm sure the perp's family will say something along the lines of Dindu nuffing, good boy, always smiling, etc.
Never pick a fight with an old man. If he’s too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
Yeah, if the person you’re robbing takes out a gun and shoots you dead as a excrement-bug, I guess that’s a “botched robbery.”
Head shots save ammo.

“We still have not identified him...”
I know why. Face shot at close range with a .38, at likely an upward angle.
Are you saying that you're convinced that this piece of excrement's prints aren't on file in the national database?
Fingerprints take longer. Typically 48 hours, to a week if they’re not in the system.
In this case, “pizza face’s” fingerprints would be taken by the Medical Examiner, which might even delay the process a little more.
Amen!
