Yes, for over 100 years, there were no laws against the use of recreational drugs yet somehow we managed to muddle through. You are obviously a proponent of the nanny state that needs to control everyone with your idea of what is acceptable.

And you see "Conflating Freedom", this is exactly what I refer to when I mention the damage you cause by spreading that bald faced lie. You've got this poor soul believing that utter garbage you spew.

"Blood of Tyrants", there were no laws because there were no great quantity of these drugs available, and no great knowledge of them. It wasn't till the Civil war, where Opium and Cocain derivatives were used to treat pain that there was ever any large supply of such drugs.

There were no laws because almost nobody knew of them or had access to them. Doctors and such had them in their medicine cabinets, but beyond that, the quantities were almost nonexistent.
