Working in Saudi I see this all the time. The older wives develop all kinds of neurotic complaints for attention when hubby marries a new 17 yo. So frequent visits together for vague complaints, which when added together = depression.
I’ve been embarrassed when some 60 yo goat comes in and what I thought was his “daughter” was in fact his wife....

Abramham, Sarah and Hagar are a historical example of he devastation brought by such relationships. From Hagar come the Arabic peoples AND their hatred for Jews.

Sorry we forgot to mention Solomon. 1 Kings 11:4 - New American Standard Bible (NASB)
4 For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.

That polygamy was Practiced - and continues by muslims and others today - in no way undermines Genesis II:24, which seems quite apparent to me, and I believe was, is and will always be God’s intention for human beings.
Isaac and Rebecca were, are and always will be His Biblical model of monogamy’s integrity and fidelity; components which cannot be found outside of it.

She forgot to mention that in Islam, theologically and legally, women have half the value of men, so I guess if you’re going to have a whole marriage, you pretty much have to have at least a 1:2 male-to-female ratio.

“Muslims and Mormons both have sacred stones as an important historical basis for their beliefs.”
A most interesting point, sir.

There is an outbreak of brain eating amoeba in the Muslim community. Maybe its rampant Toxoplasmosis. There can't be that many people in the world bat faeces crazy.

As the old moslem said years ago, 4 WIVES!
One to bear children.
One to clean.
One to cook.
One to beat up as an example to the other three!

And at the same time more and more limits are put on Christians and Christianity.

Actually there are already many polygamous relationships right now in USA both Mormon and muslim.
Only one wife is legally married but the other 2-4 live like wives, have children that we the taxpayer support.
I wonder if having laws allowing legal multiple marriages would make much of a difference
he gov’t makes it way too easy to get benefits.

While polygamy is frequently seen as benefiting the husband to the detriment of the wives, the reality is that its far more difficult for the husband. He has to not only fulfill the rights of both wives and support both families financially and emotionally, he has to juggle his time between them, settle any disputes and difficulties that arise, and all the while ensure that hes being just and fair. Why men don't marry. Why buy the dairy farm, when the cows give milk for free?

If you think this isnt right around the corner now that gay marriage is almost universal in this country, youre deluding yourself. I am trying to get people thinking ahead to whats coming rather than bury their heads in the sand and chanting La-la-la-la, cant hear you when the subject comes up. Once the Supreme Court makes gay marriage federal, therell be a lawsuit for polygamy introduced, probably the same day. Once "gay marriage" is a right, the Muslims will sue for polygamy on the basis that restriction to monogamy is religious discrimination.
And they will have a FAR stronger case, Constitutionally, than the gay marriage proponents did.

If you find yourself in such a situation, then you do need to know when to call it a day. And what exactly would happen to a woman in most of the Muslim world who thought she had any right to "call it a day"?
