Scott Walker: 'I Would Love to Have' Romney's Endorsement

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker believes Mitt Romney is a "good man and would have been a good president," but now that the former Massachusetts governor has officially backed out of the 2016 race, Walker would like his support among the list of possible Republican presidential hopefuls.

"I would love to have his endorsement," Walker told Fox News Channel's Bret Baier during a segment that aired Friday of an interview that will be running as part of a series surrounding potential 2016 candidates.

At the same time, Walker said that he thinks it is "a time for new fresh ideas," and he appreciates "the fact in his comments that he pointed out it is time to maybe pass the torch and look for new leadership."

Walker, who took a call from Romney while he was being interviewed by Baier, said that there is no doubt that Romney's decision not to mount a third try at the presidency changes the Republican landscape....

I hope that everyone who claims to be a Republican supports the eventual nominee for President. I don’t want any 3rd party BS to help elect a Democrat.

Right! Even if the eventual Republican nominee is Andrew Cuomo. After all, it is much better that a Republican welcome illegal aliens, ban guns, nationalize industries, destroy free speech, and shred the Bill of rights, then to have a Democrat do it!

What part of the base will vote for him in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina based on a Romney endorsement?

If elections are won by money, Walker can't be too choosy.

The slightest reasons really????

So you consider the flood of illegal immigrants the slightest reason?

The Global Climate lies the slightest reason?

Big government Republicans the slightest reason?

Then you clearly can not see the disaster it will create.

That is what my gutt is telling me, but I have to admit I have not looked at his actions.

I recall Limbaugh pushing Ryan and Romeny which we all know how that turned out. So now Limbaugh is pushing for Walker which makes me think this is another fake conservative.

Let’s see Romeny’s health care was the blue print for Obama care.
Romeny believes in the lie of climate change.
Romney is an open borders guy
Romney believe in Big Government Republican.
Romney believes in the perpetual state of war with no conclusion.

I’m sorry but this does not sale to the conservative base.

Any candidate should be happy to get another drop-out's endorsement. And I hope that Scott Walker is happy to get Jeb Bush's endorsement if/when Jeb drops out. I would expect that the eventual nominee is happy to get everybody else's endorsement.

And somewhere in the middle of this thread somebody talked about getting shot in the back by another member of the circular firing squad. How would that even happen?

Reagan went out of his way to get the endorsement of labor unions...something you would say disqualifies him.

This is the INSANITY of your argument!

Seeking a wide field of endorsements is wise in politics. It does not mean you compromise your principles....it means they accept yours.

But you and your fanatical anti-Walker friends find a story like this and can’t wait to try and smear Walker.

Romney was in single digits last time until fools, like you, destroyed every flawed alternative candidate.

Actually, the RAT RomneyCARE attacked THompson,
and McCain, and Palin, and her children,
and the Speaker and Mr. Cain.

The RAT Romney, partner of George Soros
in JETBlue, supports .... Obama.

Anyone who blames FReepers for RAT Romney’s
partners, and agenda IS A FOOL.

Of course Walker would love Romney; Birds of Feather and all that...set fighting Unions and Tax Cuts aside; “what difference does it make”.

Take a chill pill... Or Decaf :-)

Does anyone get this is Reagan's big tent?

Reagan would have wanted all his primary challenger's endorsements...

Regan....surely you jest. A big tent is unacceptable.

Only a very small tent housing the very narrow minded single issue thinkers is now acceptable to the sanctimonious self righteous among us.

Oh, no! We can't have a big tent. Don't you know that only total purity is allowed....purity defined by a select few for the rest of us.

People like 2ndDivisionVet, txhurl, etc are our imams and we must follow their fatwa!

I am waiting for the "Scott Walker seen talking to Sen Tammy Baldwin" threads as concrete proof that Walker is impure.

By the way, how is year 6 of the Hunter/Thompson administration going? Oh, wait, it didn’t happen! We killed them both! (Let’s pat ourselves on the backs for that one, boys!)

Thank you for this post. I've started staying away from all Walker or Cruz threads as FReepers have gotten nasty already against the guy that isn't their choice.

It's so discouraging as we actually have a few decent candidates this time but I fear we're going to end up with Jeb because the others just aren't perfect enough!

Thank God for Scott Walker. America has a chance to elect an American Traditional Values who will undo the Obama legacy.

Don’t bother with facts. This is FR; Where emotion, lack of logic and headline only reading dominates.

It kind of reminds me of the religion posts here. My God is better than your God. And then provide innuendo and exaggerations to prove it.

I see the same thing is happening again. Cruz supporters are bashing Walker. And Walker supporters are bashing Cruz.
This is going to clear the path for the Jebster.

Thank you! I'm already sick of the bashing. I would vote for either one of these two. If we end up with Jeb, we get Common Core sealed (just as we're starting to make progress in getting rid of it), and the continuation of illegals pouring over the border.

I'm so tired of the 100% or bust crowd!
