Brian Williams never finished college and does not have a degree in journalism.
But he rocketed to a top post in DC, and then NYC.
Somebody must have been pulling strings.
Plus he gets paid $10 million a year.
A smart TV exec would fire him for lying and give his job to some up and coming person for $2 million/year.
Save $ 8 million /year in the process and become a hero.
The operative word is “smart”.
This assumes there wasn't a "no cut" clause in William's contract. If there was, they save nothing. If NBC wants to save money they can fire the jerk who agreed to the $10,000,000 three year contract knowing that Williams was a liar or delusional at best.
It turns out that Williams was also just a face and a voice similar to Ted Baxter on the old Mary Tyler Moore show.
