OK. What do you propose? Outright insurgence? Armed rebellion? Terrorist activities against the government? Civil disobedience?

No one is saying that Article 5 is easy. It has never been done. But barring the above, it is our only legitimate option to bloodlessly turn the tide of Federal over reach.

Please, enlighten us with your vast knowledge, or is it ignorance with a healthy dash of self-aggrandizing arrogance.

As far as the Colonists fighting the Crown. The British had the Worlds largest and best military, but was still only wind powered ships and ground troops armed with muskets supported by sword wielding cavalry. They also had the great disadvantage of fighting in a location 3,500 + miles and an Ocean away from their center of power. They where also further troubled by a larger War with their Nemesis France and other rebellions and local problems in far flung regions of their Empire that prevented a truly concerted effort against the Colonists.

You and your ilk would be facing tanks and howitzers, F-35 jets and Navy Seals, and a militarized police force of millions based only dozens of miles if not only a few blocks from your bunker.
“If it comes down to it, I’ll fight to the death for my Country and my rights. If I die in the process, well, at least I can say I actually love my Country and had balls enough to match the Founders legacy”
In all politeness I call Bologna!
I highly doubt you will go down fighting. If you do I assure you it will be a whimper and barely registered if registered at all. I doubt you will be remembered as the modern day Pompeii and your pontificating would hardly remind one of Cicero.
I would expect your quick surrender after the authorities disconnected you from the local power grid and waited until you used all your fuel stock piles on your portable generator. Once your ice cream melted for lack of electric power, you would give up. Regardless, all your pontifications are little more than empty bluster, whereas there is an actual Conservative movement to impanel an Article 5 Convention of the States.
Perhaps you could put your energies into pushing your elected representatives at the State level to vote for it and then lobby for real amendments that would make a difference. Simply repealing the 17th amendment would eliminate many of our problems.

OK. What do you propose?

I propose outright civil rebellion. You see, the Declaration says:

"...Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the CONSENT of the governed."

This means that we CONSENT to the destruction of our freedoms by participating in it. Example:

Tired of a corrupt tax system? You consent to it each and every time you file your taxes. Tired of a crooked financial system? You consent to it each time you spend or accept an FRN. Tired of the destruction of our 2nd Amendment rights? You consent to that destruction every time you walk into a gun store and submit to a background check or ask permission for a permit to carry a concealed firearm. Here's a clue: STOP CONSENTING!!!

But no, you are far too concerned about being able to make the mortgage or car payment...too worried about being able to pop off at the liquor mart on payday and being able to buy that 6 pack of suds to drink while watching the ball game on that new big screen TV. You see, the second you stop consenting, all of those things come under immediate risk.

If you do I assure you it will be a whimper and barely registered if registered at all. I doubt you will be remembered as the modern day Pompeii and your pontificating would hardly remind one of Cicero.

All I will worry about is what I gave to the cause. I don't want to be remembered as you mention. No desire. I also have no desire to start anything big. When I go, I will be able to say that I stood tall regardless, while my "countrymen" surrendered.

Perhaps you could put your energies into pushing your elected representatives at the State level to vote for it and then lobby for real amendments that would make a difference.

I've worked within the system for over 20 years. The course is set. You're not going to change anything.

Simply repealing the 17th amendment would eliminate many of our problems.

You really think that'll happen? And you call me ignorant.
