Shouldn’t the parent/parents teach the kids this?
Well shouldn’t the parent/parents be feeding the kids and they aren’t, so the schools have to feed them.
NJ is past assuming kids even have parents; the government here is under a lot of pressure from “parents” to take their children for as much of the day (and as much of the year) as possible.
When you realize how many children are bred for freebies or to prevent deportation, you see who they are targeting with this. A couple of years back a little girl was killed here (about five years old), and they could only find one picture that had been taken of her during her lifetime. “Parents” is not a good word for those who brought her into this world; many of our social ills are caused by these “children” reaching puberty with no upbringing at all.
I was taught at a young age to respect people in authority and to use “sir” and “ma’am”. I learned from experience that it does no good to argue with a cop.
