That’s not funny. Roberts’ court will okay a third term.

Whatever you think of Roberts, you have to consider the role of the states in presidential elections. From the 12th Amendment:
The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and of all persons voted for as Vice-President and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;
Neither the POTUS nor SCOTUS are involved in the selection of the electors, the voting of the electors, or the counting of the votes. The states are able to select electors directly by legislation, tho they have not wanted to take the heat of doing so. But in extremis, if all states faced the same problem, the legislators might grow a backbone. Merely postponing the popular vote on some pretext would not suffice. There would be a legitimate successor, if even one state cast its electoral votes and the House, voting one vote per state delegation, elected him.
