The “not very funny” truth is that these minions of the Ivory Tower do not realize that their very LIVES depend on those they look down upon.
It is the “evil” oil company that provide the fuel that allows them to live further than 1/4 mile from their lofty class room. It is the “evil” fossil fuel industry or the abominable Nuclear industry that provides the power that enables them to turn on the lights when the sun goes down.
They sneer at the uneducated, greasy guy who keeps their overpriced automobile running safely or, running at all.
They get coffee water from pipes installed by a rough speaking plumber, the man who allows them the luxury of not going outside to the well for wash water.
Of all the people I know, it is the denizens of ACADEME who would be the most helpless in they world they demand.
I would wish them into the world they seek, except that I and mine are stuck living in the same world. I guess I’ll just have to shut up and keep my end up.
