At this writing, nearly two dozen Democrats are planning to boycott Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus address to Congress in March.
Vermont Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy called the speech a tawdry and high-handed stunt. Minnesota Democratic Rep. Betsy McCollum said, In my view Mr. Netanyahus speech before Congress is nothing more than a campaign event hosted by Speaker Boehner and paid for by the American people.
Im offended as an American, said New York Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel, who appeared to challenge Netanyahu to a fight over Twitter.
This once would have been unthinkable. You used to be able to find critics of Israel in the Republican Party, John Judis wrote in The New Republic last year, rattling off names like Charles Matthias and Paul Findley. But the Democrats, and particularly liberal Democrats, stood squarely behind whatever the Israeli government was doing.
Our alliance with Israel is an alliance based on common democratic ideals and mutual benefit, said a prominent Democratic senator in a 1980 speech. We must never barter the freedom and future of Israel for a barrel of oil or foolishly try to align the Arab world with us, no matter what cost.

drifting?
Democrats hide behind Himler and Hitler.
And they booed God thrice at the DNC Convention. Satan’s minions.
Why?
Because they hate Jews.
The West’s dealings with ISIS is just a taste of what Israel has been dealing with for decades.
Democrats are he party of evil. That is their problem with Israel. Almost everything about that party and their supporters are evil.
Demons manifest at some point and as the Rev Wright used to say. The chickens have come home to roost for the party that were behind the “copperheads” during the Civil War...the party that founded our domestic terror group the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan...and are really facists at heart while claiming the opposite. Now ISRAEL and the Jews can see them for the dark underbelly of the Beast that they are.

I thought that was a bit understated, too.
It’s not good for Israel to have it go from having pretty much bipartisan Congressional support ... to now having the issue of Israel spilt into partisanship antics. This is not a good sign for Israel as far as the USA is concerned!
Drifting? Exactly right. They’ve been adversaries of Israel for a long time. When a guy like Yasser Arafat is nothing more than a guy with a different world view, and nothing more, the warning bells should be exploding!
The Democrats were fellow travelers of Arafat. Bill and Hillary chummed it up with Yasser and his wife.
Billions in aid to the Arabs on the West Bank and Gaza being diverted by Arafat was only a small pot-hole on the super highway to Leftist bliss.
Yes. rather elegantly understated, dontcha think?
racing away...as though the devil himself were chasing them
Think is also has to do with:
1. There being more Muslim than Jewish voters (if not so already, then in a few years)
2. The fact that anti-Semitism is in vogue again, especially with the hardcore, anarchist-left crowd
Democrats will still want Jews though—for their campaign contributions. And liberal Jews will go through pains to distance themselves from Israel to keep their non-Jewish, Leftist “friends”.
Yet the New York Jews will open their wallets as wide as ever to donate to Democrats. Fools.
Because Jewish votes cost more than Muslim votes. Next question...
Never forget that it was a treaty between Stalin and Hitler which launched World War II.
Precisely.

Why so many stories on black members of Congress not supporting Israel? Who cares how they feel?
Yeppers.
plain and simple,
The dems have figured they can get more contributions from them arab mooselimbs than those damn Jews.
