The Case Against Imminent Economic Collapse: “They Can Keep Bailing Things Out for Several More Years Without Fear of Collapse”

Joel Skousen
February 16th, 2015

Editor’s Note: The following commentary comes to us from Joel Skousen, a well respected geopolitical analyst and Strategic Relocation expert.

We see evidence of an impending collapse of the global financial and economic systems on an almost daily basis. From falsified statistics to an almost unfathomable series of never-ending monetary machinations, all signs point to something being horrifically wrong, not just with the economy but the entire global paradigm as it exists today. By all accounts, we seem to be standing on the brink of a collapse. But as Joel Skousen points out, we must keep in mind that the Wizard is still behind the curtain, and though things may be bad and getting worse, the puppeteers remain solidly in power and they continue to manipulate their marionettes across the board - in politics, in finance, in industry. Skousen argues that they may not yet be ready to pull the plug. But he’s not suggesting you should be lax with your vigilance. Rather, he proposes an alternate perspective, timeline and endgame as we prepare for a future that may well be plagued with economic hardship, government tyranny and war.

Mr. Skousen is the author of Secure Home and founder of World Affairs Brief.

I'm still waiting for the 'certain' collapse of the summer of 2010.

I've started eating the canned tuna that I stashed away for the H5N1 Bird Flu pandemic.

It tastes just fine.

Just gotta keep rotating those supplies. Store what you eat and eat what you store.

I figure my kids will have a nice supply of spam and beans waiting for them at my place when I croak.

Mixed feelings. I know that the major economies of the world are sitting on houses of cards. Yet, this has been going on for so long, it is a wonder how the "Zombie Apocalypse" has not occurred already. It is beyond me to comprehend all the facts and nuances of why. I just observe that these economies thrive (or is it survive) regardless.

All countries on the planet are in pretty much the same fiscal shape as us (or worse).

I don’t see anyone sitting at this table who’s likely to call anytime soon.

The system runs on faith and promises. As long as people have "faith" and believe the "promises" it's going to keep going, but I suspect both will be seriously strained when the bills for the baby boomers start piling up, and it eventually becomes impossible to hide the fact that the Democrats spent all their retirement funds back in the 1980s.

When the faith goes, it all comes apart. Till then, many keep believing because they *HAVE* to believe. The alternative is simply unacceptable, and therefore rejected.

I've come to the conclusion that the "powers that be" are not about to allow themselves or their families to suffer an all out collapse. The collapse will never come. Instead, there will be other means of securing the global agenda. No need for collapse to occur.

We can all play pretend so long as we all continue playing. It’ll take somebody with a little heft on the world economic stage no longer playing along. Russia’s trying, not going so well for them. So, it appears they’re not it.
