It’s a win all around for Obama. He gets to be a hero to the Latinos, and be able to claim that those nasty old Republicans are standing in the way of the humanitarian president’s charitable policies. Obama does nothing about immigration, but gets points in that community for trying while they rake Republicans over the coals.

The judge’s ruling is likely to remain in place while the case is appealed before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and, quite possibly, to the Supreme Court. That process is likely to take six months -- or longer.

Obama knows his executive action on this matter is unconstitutional and that this case won't even get to the U.S. Supreme Court until after he is out of office. At that point, the new Republican President will vacate his illegal order.
