You are dead serious, right?

Even though every bit of that snow will eventually melt and end up in the rivers, streams, ditches and canals in and around Boston which flow into that same ocean!

That is just how bat$h*t crazy they are. The EPA also closed down a large mulching operation near here which was clearing dead trees in and around the highways and converting it into useful mulch for the highway department to protect those same highways from erosion. The reasoning was because water flowing through the mulching operation was picking up and unacceptably high level of tanin from the woods and the leaves.

Now, we've got to wonder what they are going to do about all the trees in Pennsylvania which do the same thing quite naturally.

AU72 is 100% right. I ran into that problem 20 years ago when I was plowing snow commercially. I was plowing for one business most of the winter, pushing the snow into the Chena River. Luckily, there was no one on the opposite bank to object, because I got a one time plowing job for a Mini Mall. Their one instruction was to put it anywhere I could find room, except the adjacent slough.

Their reason? They had been doing it for many years until the EPA issued them an order to remove the snow immediately. They could pile it right next to the slough, as long as no snow spilled over the bank.

The excuse for this was that the snow MIGHT contain some litter that would contaminate the slough. Evidently it was okay for all the oil, anti-freeze, trans fluid, etc to run into the water, but the small amount of solids would contaminate the water forever. IDIOTS!!

PS; It was a big snow year and I had 30,000 to 40,000 cu yards of snow on the river. I was sure glad to see spring come that year LOL..
