Indeed. This is the 70th anniversary of the Iwo Jima campaign. The M 1911 had the stopping power to kill Japs when you ran out of ammo for your M-1.

I carried an M1911 all the time during my tour. (No, I was not on Iwo. Wasn’t born yet.)

It’s all about personal weapon preference.
