While New York City is part of America, it isn't America (there is a lot more out here in the hinterlands as alien to the average New Yorker as the City is to us).
So, simply enough, what is good for New York City isn't necessarily what the rest of America needs. One size does not fit all. Unless a Presidential Candidate understands and expresses that and shows that knowledge when proposing policy, they aren't the right guy for the job. You can't apply Big city solutions to rural America.
Rudy was more the “occasion” for my observation rather than the subject.
We all know our propensity to eat our own and to hold functionaries to a standard that never allows them to serve to become the statesman we all desire. That merely is my point.
