It doesn't make a difference if he thinks the vote will fail or not. He should be standing on principle and voting to pass the measure anyway.

This just goes to show that he's all style and no substance. He's also just shown how terrible of a senator that he is, and how terrible of a president he'd make.

NO NO NO!

You don’t want him to stand on “his” principles. His principle is amnesty all the way. That is the real reason he’s not going to be there. He wants to be the great Hispanic Hope of the GOP. He does not want to vote against the filibuster but he’s up for re-election in 2016 and voting for the filibuster would be a big problem for him in Florida. He would not vote to end the filibuster because “his” constituents — the illegals, and hispanics he speaks honestly with whenever he speaks to them, would think that he’s been lying to them.

But he has no problem lying to US sovereignty loving citizens and taxpayers. He just avoids taking a stand because if he stood for what he believes in, he’d be out of the Senate. Just like JEBBY!, he wants to be able to win without appearing to lie and without antagonizing the TEA party he lied to when he first came into the Senate. If he doesn’t show up to vote, he doesn’t have to defend an amnesty loving vote nor cast a vote against what he really believes.
