When I was 18, I was lowering the hammer on a Colt .45 Auto and let the hammer slip. Fortunately the gun was pointed in a safe direction but I still have a tiny scar on my thumb where the hammer or slide cut me.

I have never had another accident in 50 years. I am sort of glad that one happened as it taught me a lesson I will never forget. I had been trained in safe gun handling and taught well but I was still not careful enough.

Take a look at a Beretta PX4 or a HK USP.Both guns are very safe to use, just take the time to really understand how they work.

Nuthin in Otay Mesa other than illegals, BP, dirt bikers and rattlesnakes.

Ah yes, to hear Liberals say it: “Only highly trained authorities should be allowed to possess handguns”

My LC9s trigger pull is from Dallas to Houston long, and it is really to tiny for your hand.

“I just do not feel comfortable with a loaded auto pistol on my person.

A revolver with the hammer set in the position where it is off the firing pin is fine, but just knowing that firing pin is set to go in an auto pistol makes me nervous.”

I had a Glock 22 and got rid of it. It did not feel right. I have two Sigs, a 226 and 229. They have external hammers and decockers.

But I do love my old S&W 686 and 629.

The LCP and LC9’s trigger pill is smooth and consistent though.

I prefer my Sig P238 or Kimber Ultra CDP 1911.

Every gun I own has a safety with the exception of my LCP, which I rarely carry now.

A FED shot himself in the foot in a drug raid a few weeks ago. A neighbor remarked it was good, he hit his own foot, as the room was crowded with DEA, DPS, County, City and others wanting to be in on the bust.

Just learn to master inanimate objects.
You will be fine.
It is liberating.

Trust yourself. Any competent person can safely handle a gun, and yes, a loaded gun.

Get a revolver. Easier on the brain.

And finally - NEVER touch that trigger until you need to.

When I was young, many things frightened me because I had been taught to fear them.
As I became older, I mastered them.
