Report: Gruber Billed Vermont for ‘Impossible’ Hours
Breitbart News ^ | 23 Feb 2015 | Ian Hanchett

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber billed the State of Vermont for hours that “were impossible for him to accomplish

...

for one of the invoices, which is September, and this is just an example, he billed out 500 hours a month for his research assistants. Well, the auditor found that he only had one research assistant. So, if you do that math

...

the auditor even criticized the Democrat administration up here for this. The people who were supposed to be overseeing this contract did not demand any details at all from Professor Gruber. They just said — they just asked for these summary bills and then they paid them without question.”

Toensing concluded, “federal money was involved. So, this is potentially a federal crime, and the US Attorney should be getting involved

When you’re a lot “smarter” than the dorks that hired you, why not rip ‘em off?

Brilliant at math? Why, he must be great with people too, a terrific recruiter. He apparently managed to convince/recruit a research assistant willing to work nearly 17 hours per day, 7 days a week, over an entire month... Where can I find dedication like that?

Obviously Gruber is a lying fraudulent POS. But then, he's one of bammy's buddies so I guess that goes without saying. Seems anyone and everyone connected with bammy and the 'rats is a lying POS. That's not prejudice talking, that's a taxpayer talking from experience.

That's all right - Vermont auditors are too stupid to notice the discrepancies.

Two predictions:

First, the government will get involved, because Gruber caused them no end of grief with his honest “stupid electorate” comments.

Second, the whole thing will be written off as a typo—he meant to put down 50 hours, rather than 500. He’ll return the difference.

Does anyone believe that this would EVER happen to one of owebama’s cronies?

When you are hired to lie and make up numbers, should your employer expect that you will lie and make up numbers on your bill for services?

No, he won't return the difference. They'll whitewash it probably like you describe, but what they'll do is they'll announce that because of an innocent clerical mistake he's agreed to return the 450 hours worth...

Nothing new there.

Union workers in Philadelphia have been doing that for decades.

Reminds me of the joke about the 35 year old lawyer who died in a car crash. He amazed St. Peter with his youthful appearance. St. Peter thought he was 120, based on his billing records.

Slightly OT, but this post calls to mind a really old lawyer joke that some of the younger whippersnappers out there in Freeperland May not have heard.

It seems there was once a successful young lawyer, not yet thirty, who had achieved enough success to acquire a really hot Italian sports car. He had not, unfortunately, yet acquired enough good judgment and experience to operate it safely, and promptly wrapped himself and the car around an oak tree, resulting in his departure for the pearly gates decades too soon.

When St. Peter met him, he pulled out a thick file folder and explained that, given the descedant’s earthly profession, a more careful perusal of his record than normal would be required before he could enter.

After a minute or two, the good saint mentioned, without looking up, that it at least appeared that the lawyer had enjoyed a good, long life.

“What do you mean?”, protested the lawyer. “I wasn’t even thirty!”

St. Peter squinted over the rim of his specs at the man, and observed, “That can’t be. I’m looking at your billable hours records, sir. You cannot possibly be less than eighty years old”.
