The US TV broadcast of this year's Oscars ceremony on Sunday scored the event's lowest ratings in six years, averaging 36.6 million.

They were down by 16% on last year's ratings, according to Nielsen figures published by Variety.

First-time host Neil Patrick Harris received lukewarm reviews, while some have blamed the drop on a lack of nominations for films with mass appeal.

I actually liked Annie Hall and I’ve always considered it the last funny Woddy Allen movie.

Who wants to see a gay guy in his tighty whiteys?

And Patricia Arquette shrieking about equal pay when it is has been a Federal law for 50 years.

These people are paid exorbitant sums of money and given god-like status solely for being able to pretend they’re someone other than themselves.

And yet they are stupider than rocks.

Birdman over American sniper is bad but less of a crime than Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan.

Like 0, Hollywood really isn't a big fan of America and is very uncomfortable with any movie that celebrates American values or virtues, while always willing to support a film that claims we are guilty of some sort of evil.

A liberal elite butt kissing affair... it’s NOT for the little people. I have no idea why they broadcast it...

It’s as interesting as plumbers handing out awards to each other...

The Imitation Game was about possibly the most important individual in the victory by the Allies, and the horrific way the British government treated him afterwards because he was a homosexual.

My top 3 of the year were Selma, Art and Craft, and Ida. Imitation Game placed 4th.

"The Theory of Everything" was well done and extremely well acted. It was heart-wrenching while at the same time up-lifting. I've always been facinated by Stephen Hawking and his ability to keep a sense of humor while being trapped in a shell of a body for decades.

After watching this movie, the man is now a hero of mine. The best actor award definitly went to the best actor. Eddie Redmayne nailed it with all the dignity Hawking has displayed through the years. A great story of an extraordinary man.

TYPICAL Hollyweird CIRCLE JERK.

Best Picture Nominees:

# 3 American Sniper: $319,607,000

# 41 The Imitation Game: $ 83,921,000
# 55 Grand Budapest Hotel: $ 59,100,318
# 67 Selma: $ 49,598,000
# 82 Birdman: $ 37,733,000
# 86 Theory of Everything $ 34,145,000
# 101 Boyhood: $ 25,295,600
# 127 Whiplash: $ 11,330,000
TOTAL for other 7 Movies: $301,122,918

American Sniper is the real winner by any REAL measure. Clint Eastwood and Warner Brothers are laughing all the way to the bank. BTW, give it a few more weeks and American Sniper will be the #1 Top Grossing Film of 2014.

Yes, my consolation is that Eastwood doesn’t need to care about a worthless award from the leftist navel-gazers. I wouldn’t be crying, if I were in his position. He didn’t need their seal of approval to succeed.

I didn’t watch any of this parade of libtards.
The pic of the host(ess) in his undies on stage says it all.
They are simply continuing the break-down of morals in the culture at large, like all libtards do.

They are all a disgrace.

It must be 20 years since I watched the Oscars.

I agree-—Annie Hall is not Woody Allen’s best movie. I remember being excited to see it after it won all the Oscars and then being disappointed. I didn’t think it was very funny.

I believe 2 of his previous movies were better. I remember seeing “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex.....” (sounds racy, but really is very mild by today’s standards) and “Play It Again, Sam” back in the ‘70’s. Both were hilarious and very enjoyable. If you can ignore Woody Allen’s personal life and troubles you would probably enjoy both movies.
