"In the end, at least 20 officers corralled, searched and fingerprinted all 60 meeting attendees, before seizing all cellphones and recording equipment in a Valentine's Day 2015 raid on the Texas separatist group."
What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law.
To: Dacula
Looks like they were set up too. Who was the traitor who opened the doors to let in the law enforcement in the first place?

Sounds like Heirholzer is a sapling from the roots of Gestapo Germany. How much did this stupid raid on the elderly, which most RT members are, cost taxpayers?
To: txrefugee
There are a lot of reports on the net of corruption in that office.

Scary how no one from the local police seemed to have a problem with this.

"We've had a lot of dealings with Republic of Texas members in the past here, too, flooding the court with simulated documents," he said. "I don't have any problem with them going back to the Republic of Texas but they need to do it through the proper legal channels."
The judge and banker summoned to the Republic's court had been involved in the foreclosure of a member's Kerr County house. The invalid court summon was signed by Susan Cammak, the Kerr County homeowner, and David Kroupa, a Republic of Texas judge from Harris County.
This pretty much explains the whole incident right here. This Susan Cammak, who had just gone through a foreclosure, decides she'll "summon" the judge in the case, along with the bank's trustee, to answer "charges" in her "court." About the only mystery left unresolved here is why was a judge involved in a foreclosure proceeding in Texas, which is a non-judicial foreclosure state in the first place.

Are these guys still running around Tejas trying to cash fraudulent checks for a billion dollars apiece?

I was referring to other violations of the Constitution by the fed. Executive branch, to be specific.
But they sure are quick to address percieved threats to their authority.

I agree that law enforcement agents fromn a half dozen agencies is overkill, but the idea that a bunch of idiots can just issue summons to appear before a make-pretend court should have you equally concerned.

Personally, its the federal government that threatens me.
I'll let Texans worry about their local cranks.

Sheriff Heirholzer needs to be shown the door next election. I find it very disappointing and alarming that a Hill Country sheriff would be so totally in the bag for Obama’s stormtroopers.
To: Dacula
Feds shouldn’t have been involved. This was state business.

I live in Kerr County, and an ROT member did get arrested in the past couple of years for trying/insisting his ROT currenct was legal tender. They also filed claims against landowners claiming their land belonged to the ROT.
It cost some of these landowners their life savings to defend their farms and ranches against the ROT fraudsters. They are looked at as scammers and criminals in these parts.
