Christie, Hogan, Baker and Rauner I do not think are really Republican. Christie is anti-union and liberal about everything else, right? Hogan and Baker put an R on their name and somehow won...perhaps because their Demon Rat predecessors were such failures. And Rauner, IIRC, donated to Obama—then for some reason decided to make a run as a Republican because he didn’t win the Demon Rat beauty contest.

Martinez spoke at the last RNC...stayed very much away from social issues and talked only about money. So there you go.

Don’t know much about Branstad and Mead.

States are not all alike and states’ legal actions against the Feds isn’t so straightforward. The Attorney General of Iowa is a separate elected political office. The Republican governor committing the state to an action that the Dem leftist AG opposes would probably do the case more harm than good.
