Scott Walker Is Trying to Woo CPAC. And It's Working.
National Journal ^ | Feb 26th, 2015 | By Lauren Fox

Posted on 02/26/2015 6:34:49 PM PST by Mariner

February 26, 2015 Scott Walker found his stride in a rowdy Conservative Polical Action Conference crowd Thursday during a speech aggressively touting his record as Wisconsin governor to offer evidence for why he's ready to take on the White House in 2016.

"If we can do it in Wisconsin, we can do it across America," Walker said.

After refusing to answer questions about whether President Obama was Christian and declining to clearly outline his position on evolution in recent weeks, Walker did not shy away from some contentious social issues, such as abortion, that have become stumbling blocks for him. Before an eager crowd, Walker continued his campaign to prove he is both pragmatic and conservative enough to win the Republican presidential nomination. He mentioned lower property taxes, the expansion of Second Amendment rights, and defunding Planned Parenthood—all to prove that he can "fight and win" in Wisconsin, a state where a Republican presidential candidate has not won for 30 years.

I am unable to understand the intense curiosity regarding evolutionary modification/development of life forms.

That question put to me (as worthy candidate for President) would elicit a question, to wit: First, tell me, how did the spark of life come into being, without which evolutionary change could not occur.

I really do not know where you get the crapola you have just spouted. On the Hannity program tonight from CPAC Walker answered all the questions just opposite of what you have written. Watch Hannity’s interview with Walker. We will await your apology.

[Jeb is positioning himself to be the VP on the Democrat ticket.
I think he likely has a lock on that.]

The cat fight will come over who will be at the top of the ticket. Dynasty v.s. Dynasty......= NASTY

Wrong, Mariner. You must not have watched his interview with Hannity tonight when he was asked the questions you have referenced in your post.

I feel the same as you, but I think that I could overlook that fault at this perilous time for our country’s sake. I think that John Bolton is perhaps the best qualified candidate to lead our country in the current WWIII. Anybody that says we can do without the top ten floors of the UN is a good start. But he just might be too weak of a candidate, and that will surface soon enough. My overall best choice is Ted Cruz.

[Cruz is fighting for the Rule of Law, but he has said he would change the law to allow those now here illegally could stay. And work]

I have not heard nor read where he has taken that position. Can you enlighten us on where he said this?

Changing rhetoric now that he’s running for president doesn’t change his history. Buy it if you want. I’m not.

So, are you saying that what he said to Hannity tonight in front of a large crowd and to the tv audience is BS?

Yeah. Because I’ve actually paid attention to what he’s said and done previously. I’m sorry you haven’t, and are therefore prone to buy a bunch of new bs. Or, maybe you just don’t care about actually protecting life, and marriage, and the appropriate role of the judiciary, and our borders. I know he doesn’t, because I’ve heard the words out of his own mouth. He’s already surrendered on all of those key points.

If history is our guide. there a link between social issues and the existential aspects. Gay marriage, abortion, “anything goes” are symptoms of a society in its death throes.

I realize you do not take him at his word tonight at CPAC, but I do and will continue to do so until and if he proves differently.

No, I never did because I followed his career for many years. The only thing I liked about Romney was his performance in salvaging the Olympics that year...nothing more.
