At this point I just wish Republican candidates would spend any time at all looking at the strategies and platforms that helped Reagan win such huge landslides and consider for one second that these ideas are much better than what the establishment is peddling now. There are no “Reagan Democrats” these days. The white, blue-collar voters who switched parties in 1980 and put Reagan in the White House have voted solidly Republican ever since.
