George Washington Carver did something worthwhile by his scientific work elevating the peanut to something that practically everyone eats and that has a multitude of uses.

And still does not put him in the same league with a Thomas Edison or Ben Franklin.

That’s true, but he is the only negro scientist that contributed something to humanity.

The only other scientist I can think of is MaJarion Brooks who invented the condom around 1897 by using the intestine of a lamb.

It stood until it was improved by an Irishman named Jack O’Bannion who removed the intestine from the animal.
