You fail to recognize that legalization tells kids its no big deal and ruins the potential of a significant portion of another generation.

For decades kids have been reporting that they can get pot more easily than cigarettes or beer ... because sellers of illegal products never card for age whereas sellers of legal products usually do (in order to protect their legal access to the adult market).

I guess we should ban smokes and booze too, so the kiddies don’t get any bad ideas...What? Wait! You mean kids still drink and smoke??

Amazing we’re ‘still allow’ to show, especially during the sporting events, that drinking is no-big-deal, eh?

I suspect it’s the last refuge, since smoking has all but been banned from non-print advertisements...

Not necessarily true, there are plenty of legal substances out there which people abuse (salvia, paint, alcohol, etc.)which are just as dangerous as illegal drugs. Also, there are lots of perfectly legal activities which employers still frown upon. I don't expect that to suddenly change, as long as employers can set their own standards and contracts. Furthermore, you cant save people from their own stupidity, people that consistently make poor choices are going to meet Darwin sooner than the rest us. The State has no obligation to save people from themselves, only to give us the liberty to live as we choose.
